If You Find Her - Future of Forestry

Quite acoustic songs like this make me fall in love.

This song got me all kinds of emotional.

I’m literally in tears right now.

leaving is not enough; you must
stay gone. train your heart
like a dog. change the locks
even on the house he’s never
visited. you lucky, lucky girl.
you have an apartment
just your size. a bathtub
full of tea. a heart the size
of Arizona, but not nearly
so arid. don’t wish away
your cracked past, your
crooked toes, your problems
are papier mache puppets
you made or bought because the vendor
at the market was so compelling you just
had to have them. you had to have him.
and you did. and now you pull down
the bridge between your houses,
you make him call before
he visits, you take a lover
for granted, you take
a lover who looks at you
like maybe you are magic. make
the first bottle you consume
in this place a relic. place it
on whatever altar you fashion
with a knife and five cranberries.
don’t lose too much weight.
stupid girls are always trying
to disappear as revenge. and you
are not stupid. you loved a man
with more hands than a parade
of beggars, and here you stand. heart
like a four-poster bed. heart like a canvas.
heart leaking something so strong
they can smell it in the street.

Frustrated! [warning, rant ahead]

Okay so my mother took it upon herself to order me two season tickets to UCF’s football games.  This will be the 3rd year of being ticket holders.  However, did my mother think to ask me if I wanted to drop $500 for the set?  NOPE.  Her explaination was that since I’ve been going for two years she just assumed I’d want to go again.  I told her that going out and spending $500 of my money without asking me is unacceptable.  She then responded back with “well, I didin’t realize your financial situation was that bad”.  Excuse me?? This has nothing to do with how much money I have but the simple fact that you must ask someone before spending THEIR money… of course she didn’t see it my way.  Shocking.

Anyways, today was very stressful as we’re migrating our servers to SQL2005 servers and therefore, I have to make sure all the applications I support won’t break when the migration actually occurs.  Whatever, work talk.  So after work I decide that I want to borrow a few books from the library to calm me down.  I haven’t borrowed anything in about 8 years so I went in to get a new card….this is when another awesome surprise happened.

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

Backstory:
The year I graduated HS (2001) I was big on reading books and rented a shit ton.  One of my (now ex) friends was a klepto and stole about 5 library books from me.  Needless to say, we’re no longer friends.  So I was forced to say that I had lost them.  With late fees (oops) and the 5 missing books, the total was $103.  Yikes.  So to help me out, my parents tell me that they’ll pay for my fines as my graduation gift.  I wasn’t one to demand or expect gifts for doing things correctly but I thought it was really nice of them.  It lifted some stress before I entered college.

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

Fast forward to present time. The lady asked me if I had a card before and I said “yes, when i was younger”.  She then hit me with “well, you have 5 lost books and a few late fees.  The total is $103 and unfortunately, you can’t check anything out until the your account is at $0.”  It was like a slap in the face… that was my graduation gift… felt like a kick to the stomach.  I called my mom and told her what was happening.  She said she didn’t keep any of her checks and that she had no proof of paying it.

So in the span of about a month my mother has generated $600 of debt (without my knowledge) that I need to pay.  I just want to read a book to escape reality… oh wait…

"Good relationships balance over time. This means that at any particular point in time, the relationship may appear quite unbalanced: One partner may be more nurturing; one may be more needy; one may be providing all the financial support, etc. But if both partners are loving, understanding, giving, dedicated and flexible, then the relationship can handle all kinds of ups and downs, and still be strong, exciting and, yes, romantic. The best relationships are well balanced. Not a delicate balance; not a static balance- but a dynamic ever-changing balance."

"Human beings are funny. They long to be with the person they love but refuse to admit openly. Some are afraid to show even the slightest sign of affection because of fear. Fear that their feelings may not be recognized, or even worst, returned. But one thing about human beings puzzles me the most is their conscious effort to be connected with the object of their affection even if it kills them slowly within."

"

Please aim slow
I know, it’s not like you
To take the fall
For anyone but yourself
Let me show you a world
That you’ve never seen
Let me help you unveil
What you meant to say
There is no time to waste
When you find love you can’t hesitate

Step right up
Shoot an arrow at the target
My heart is an easy thing for you to hit
Don’t worry
If you miss I’ll let you shoot again
My heart is an easy thing for you to win.
